Hatter's Cottage, Totnes
Hatter's Cottage is the self-contained rear portion of a larger building fronting onto the Narrows in Totnes. It is Grade II listed and sits within the Totnes conservation area. The proposed rear extension sits within two high stone walls, possibly of medieval origin. Exposed galvanised steel channels form a T in elevation allowing a new foundation point to sit well away from the walls, mitigating the need for underpinning. We gained planning permission and listed building consent at the beginning of 2019 and are currently in the detailed design phase with a start on site planned for later in the year.
