Meldon heights sits high on the Moor above the village of Chagford. Our clients were lucky enough to find a poor quality bungalow on a large plot with incredible views. The plan is to demolish the existing building to foundation level and rebuild on the same footprint, saving on groundworks but also on VAT, new-builds being rated at zero. Exposure to the elements is a big issue this high up so the emphasis is on robust materials and large overhangs to create sheltered spaces. We gained full planning permission from the National Park in Feb 2020 and are now moving into the detailed design phase.
